Steps to get an article

Many articles will be available full text when you search a library database like PubMed or a search engine like Google Scholar. But sometimes you'll just get article citations but no full text. Here are simple steps to follow when that happens:

1. Search Google Scholar. If you don't find the full text, go to step 2.

  • Note: off-campus, Google Scholar needs to be set up to check for LMU full text. See link below. 

2. Note the name of the article's journal, and search the Journal List on the library web site. Follow the links to the journal and then browse by date to find the article.

  • This step may find both online or print-only journals.

3. If the article isn't available online from step 1 or 2, use the ILLiad interlibrary loan service. Note: this free service requires creating a user account and does *not* use myLMU login credentials. See link below.
