Review will be done in batches by Library of Congress call number range, organized whenever possible to map with disciplines by LMU department. After the library has created each list of candidates for review and the liaison has identified books to remain in the collection, faculty are invited to come to the library to review the remaining items.
Department chairs and Faculty Library Representatives in relevant disciplines will be notified via email that a set of books are available for physical review for a period of 3-4 weeks (with reminder halfway). During this period faculty are invited to visit the review area, where they can recommend specific books to retain in the library collections, or to request that they be given the book to keep for personal use after withdrawal.
Faculty in all disciplines are welcome to engage in the review process for any subject area. With this in mind, reminders about the process and subject areas coming up for review will also be shared regularly through School/College Faculty/Staff newsletters.
The review space is located in the library level 2 staff area just beyond the restrooms, and open review will be available from 9am-4:45pm Monday through Friday. If you wish to arrange an alternative time to visit, please contact Glenn Johnson-Grau (contact info to the left).
