Library Resources for High School Students

Know Before You Go

Welcome! This guide was created to help high school students to find and use library resources for their AP English class.

Before your library visit:

Only Circulation staff can issue library cards. Your high school must have an agreement with LMU to get a library card - ask Circulation staff to find out if your school has an agreement. Outside of normal business hours, call the Circulation Desk in advance at 310-338-5709 to make sure that staff will be available to issue library cards.

Not sure where to start your research? Check out our helpful Research Guides!

What should I bring to the library?

  • A copy of your research assignment, so you can get help from a librarian!
  • Your High School ID Card
  • Money for parking, photocopying, printing and food
  • A flash drive to save your research notes, database articles, etc.
  • A laptop computer, wireless internet is free for guests
