Find media at LMU

As well as for books and e-books, use LINUS, the Library's catalog to find DVDs, videos and other materials that LMU owns or has on reserve. Use the dropdown to change the kind of search you want to do (you can use phrases like 'media' or 'feature films' in a Keyword search.).

You can also use the Advanced Search page to specify location (Media), and/or particular format (DVD, VHS, sound recording, etc.) in order to limit your search to what you are seeking.  This might be the easiest way to find specific media on your subject.  But feel free to see a Reference Librarian for help with media searches.

Huffington Ecumenical Symposium on Mary

The Huffington Ecumenical Institute sponsored this event on Wednesday, November 17, 2010:
LMU theology professors Fr. Deacon Nicholas Denysenko and Rev. Fr. Dorian Llywelyn, S.J. spoke on the role and relevance of the Virgin Mary in Eastern and Western Christianity.  Orthodox and Catholic Christians have much in common in the ways they venerate Mary, but subtle differences reveal much about our understanding not only of the Mother, but of her Son.  Professor David A. Sánchez, Ph.D., also of Theological Studies, was the respondent.  The title link above will lead you to the Past Events page of the Web site, which links to videos of all three presentations.

Hymns to Mary

For two millenia, poets and musicians have been inspired to compose hymns to, and in praise of, the Virgin Mary.

Here are links to examples of these, leading to selections in our streaming music databases. (MyLMU login needed for remote access)
