What is Pressbooks?

Pressbooks is an authoring and editing platform (WordPress-based) for LMU faculty and staff to adapt, create, and publish Open Educational Resources (OER) such as openly licensed books.

Key Features:

Adapt existing books from the Pressbooks Directory
Create new books from scratch utilizing Pressbooks templates
Enrich content with math notation, videos, audio, web annotation (Hypothesis), and interactive elements like quizzes and other forms of assessment (H5P)
Publish books in multiple file formats (PDF, ePub, XHTML, etc.)
Conform books with accessibility standards

The LMU Library provides access to Pressbooks to LMU faculty and staff at no cost. The platform can be used to write and publish openly licensed books for Loyola Marymount University courses.

A directory of all the public books published on Pressbooks. Search and filter books by keyword, license, and more. Using the LMU Pressbooks platform, LMU faculty and staff can clone, revise, remix, and redistribute all of the openly licensed content found through this Directory.
