Library Resources in the Time of COVID-19

Use this guide to learn how to access library resources online and get virtual support with your research during the COVID-19 pandemic closure.

Renewing Library Materials

LMU books for most faculty, staff, and students were renewed to September 11, 2020. You can check your account here to renew most items again to the middle of December. If you have any trouble renewing, please reach out to Circulation at or 310.338-5709.

To Renew Materials Online: Library users can renew Hannon library materials online through My Account on the library website. See also: How do I renew a book online?

Returning Library Materials

If you would like to return your books and you are near campus, whether or not you are authorized to access campus, library book return bins are available to you. See pictures and locations here

Due to limited library staff and safety procedures, books may remain on your record a week or more after returning. You will not accrue fines for this delay. If your book is not removed from your record after that time, please feel free to contact us with any questions.

If you want to return your books by mail, you can mail your book(s) to:

ATTN: Circulation Department
William H. Hannon Library
1 LMU Drive, MS 8200
Los Angeles, CA 90045

While we ultimately desire to have our books and other library materials back, our primary concern is for the health of everyone in our LMU community. If you have questions or concerns about items you have checked out and cannot return for the moment, please contact us at

If you have LMU library materials checked out and you cannot return them to the library before their due date, or if you have any concerns about materials on your account, please contact the Circulation Desk at 310.338.5709 or email We will work with you to extend those deadlines where possible.

If you have interlibrary loan (ILLiad) or LINK+ items checked out and you cannot return them to the library before their due date, please contact Interlibrary Loan Department at 310.338.7689 or
