William H. Hannon Library's Curriculum Materials Collection (CMC) is designed to support LMU's School of Education students and faculty with their methods and practicum courses, and enhance the teaching of children’s and young adult literature. In addition, CMC serves as a supplementary resource of non-circulating materials to local schools, particularly Catholic schools in the Los Angeles area. Materials are located on level 2 of the library.
LMU students, faculty, and staff are welcome to check out CMC materials.

The American Library Association documented 821 attempts to censor library books and other materials in 2024 across all library types, a decrease from 2023 when 1,247 attempts were reported. In 2024, ALA recorded the third highest number of book challenges since tracking began in 1990. The most common reasons for challenges were false claims of illegal obscenity for minors; inclusion of LGBTQIA+ characters or themes; and dealing with topics of race, racism, inclusivity, equity, and social justice.
