Search the Catalog for Books

To find books, eBooks, videos and other materials that LMU owns or has on reserve.

How to: Searching the Linus Catalog Video

How to: Locating Books in the Library

Not in LINUS or LINK+? Fill out a book request form in ILLIAD* and have it delivered to LMU.

*Please note it can take up to three weeks for a book requested through ILLiad to arrive at LMU.

Tip: Try Subject Headings

Subject headings are the 2nd major way (after call numbers) that books are categorized in an academic library. They provide a uniform way of specifying a book is about.

All books in the library catalog have 1+ Library of Congress Subject Headings assigned to them. Click on the linked subject headings in the catalog to find more resources on that topic. This is what they'll look like in the library catalog:

Where in the Library?

If you're looking for a physical book in W. H. Hannon Library, you'll see that the books are arranged by topic, according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Two-thirds of the library's books are in basement storage, so check LINUS, the library catalog, if you don't see what you need.
