Library Resources in the Time of COVID-19

The library building will be closed beginning March 18, 2020. Use this guide to learn how to access library resources online and get virtual support with your research.

Reserves Materials

Request course reserves (form)

We are processing course material reserve requests as they come in, and appreciate your patience as we work with limited staff and interruptions in distribution chains in a rapidly changing situation.

We are currently fulfilling scanning requests that exceed best practices under normal circumstances. Note, however, that we must still ensure that our scanning practices are reasonable in relation to these extraordinary circumstances, and we are unable to digitize entire copyrighted texts. Please only request materials where an e-copy is not available from the textbook publisher or the library (and note that we will first try to acquire e-access if we do not already own it). Please limit your request to only the portions of a given work that are needed for the duration of LMU's online learning in Spring 2020, and only distribute these copies to students using Brightspace to ensure that access is limited to those enrolled in the course.

Online Library Instruction

Librarians will continue to support your information literacy needs, including:

  • offering live (synchronous) Zoom instruction sessions with a librarian
  • creating pre-recorded (asynchronous) Zoom instruction sessions with a librarian
  • providing help embedding library how-to videos, LibGuides, etc. into Brightspace
  • scheduling individual or small group research consultation sessions via Zoom
