How to search e-books only in the LMU library catalog

You can find e-books using the Library Catalog; the exact same way you find print books. You may have already noticed e-books coming up in your search results. You can also search just for e-books. This is a good option if you're off-campus and can't get print books. Follow the steps below to search for e-books only.

Start at the Library's homepage
Click on "Advanced" below the Library Catalog search box.
Then click on "E-BOOK" in the Material Type box, enter in your search terms, and click Submit.
If we have e-books on your topic, you will see their records and the e-book icon on the left.
Click on the title of the e-book you want to look at. Then click on the link that says "Read Online."

Digital Books Collections - Web

Most of these books are out of copyright - which means they are older, and might count more as primary sources than secondary sources. Current e-books can be found by searching in the library catalog above, and limiting the search to e-books (use the "advanced search" link).

HathiTrust Digital Library is a digital preservation repository. It provides long-term preservation and access services for public domain and in copyright content from a variety of sources, including Google, the Internet Archive, Microsoft, and in-house partner institution initiatives.

LINK+
LINK+ is a catalog of over 60 academic and public libraries in California and Nevada. Current LMU students, staff, and faculty can request books from LINK+ libraries online. The books are delivered to LMU at no charge to you. Books arrive in 3 business days and are held at the Circulation counter for 7 days. The check out period is 3 weeks, with one possible renewal for another 3 weeks, and overdue fines are $1 per day.

**Not in LINUS or LINK+? Fill out a book request form in ILLIAD* and have it delivered to LMU.**

*Please note it can take up to three weeks for a book requested through ILLiad to arrive at LMU.

Requesting books through ILLiad can take up to a few weeks, due to mailing time.
Create an ILLiad account and fill out the book request form to have books that are unavailable at LMU or in LINK+ delivered from another library. Due dates are set by the lending library and can vary. Books delivered to LMU are held at the Circulation Desk.

Search for books at more than 10,000 libraries worldwide. Then complete the online book request form in ILLiad.
