Tips for Research Assistants & Teaching Assistants: This workshop will help RAs and TAs cope with faculty information needs. Do your RAs or TAs know how to read a citation? Can they tell the difference between an anthologized essay and a journal article? Can they locate a full-text dissertation? Are they comfortable using bibliographies and online indexes? This workshop will include a quick review of the library catalog, LINK+, and the Journal List. Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan procedures will also be covered.
Citation Management Made Easy With Zotero: How would you like to create your bibliography with a click of a button? Would you like all of the sources for your paper (journal articles with full-text, books, primary sources) saved in one place and accessible from any computer? You're in luck! At this workshop you will learn all about using Zotero; a free citation management software that allows you to easily save and organize all of the resources you find in the library catalog, electronic databases, and the web. This workshop will teach you how to install Zotero, add items to your Zotero library, and use the Zotero word-processor plug-in to automatically add in-text citations and bibliographies with a click of a button! For this workshop it is recommended that you bring your own laptop. However there will be loaner laptops available if it is not possible to bring one.”
