Find Books at LMU

LINUS is the Library's catalog. Use it to find books, E-books, videos and other materials that LMU owns or has on reserve.

Search Tip:
Try doing a Keyword search in LINUS for your subject and the word "sources."

Example: "Greece and sources"

Finding early names in LINUS

Note that, although there may be multiple elements in a person's full name (with the surname coming first in a subject or author heading), honorifics and geographical identifiers always come AFTER the person's proper name, e.g.:

Cicero, Marcus Tullius
Diodorus, Siculus  ( i.e. Diodorus of Sicily)
Scipio Africanus (i.e. Scipio, conqueror of Africa)
Paul, the Apostle, Saint

The Library of Congress Subject and Author Headings now use the most popular form of names, usually in English, e.g.:

Pompey the Great (instead of Pompeius Magnus)
Caesar, Julius  (instead of Caesar, Caius Julius)
